Previously, we explored a variety of methods to earn Swagbucks, ranging from internet searches to answering surveys. Once you begin gathering Swagbucks, you might wonder – what can I use them for? As it happens, Swagbucks can be redeemed for a wide range of rewards.
1. CHARITABLE DONATIONS
If you aspire to donate to charity but are low on funds, you don’t have to worry. Swagbucks gives you the chance to contribute to various charities. Currently, they are advocating spearheading donations for a relief fund for Hurricane Sandy victims. They support several other charities including Unicef, the Humane Society, and clean water drives. The choice of how many Swagbucks you donate is yours. Each Swagbuck is equivalent to .01 in cash value, meaning a donation of 1,000 Swagbucks is equal to a $10 contribution.
2. GIFT CARDS OR CASH THROUGH PAYPAL
Alternatively, you can exchange your Swagbucks for gift cards or convert them to PayPal cash. For example, 10,000 Swagbucks can be redeemed for $100 Pay Pal cash. This is my personal favourite redemption method; it’s essentially free money! If you regularly shop on Amazon, you can also convert your Swagbucks into Amazon gift cards. Other available gift card options include restaurants like TGI Friday’s, Rainforest Cafe, Applebee’s, and Steak and Shake. There’s a wide selection, from relaxing spa visits to shopping at Best Buy.
3. PURCHASE MERCHANDISE
Swagbucks offers an expansive range of items available for purchase using Swagbucks. In need of a Halloween costume for the kids or a Christmas toy? You can make these purchases using Swagbucks, for anywhere between 3,000 to 7,000 Swagbucks. If you’re a music lover, you can even bag a 5-piece drum set for slightly above 37,000 Swagbucks. There’s an array of items for smaller Swagbucks rewards too.
4. AVAIL LOCAL DISCOUNTS
Perhaps you’ve just started earning Swagbucks, but you’d still like to benefit from them. Visit the “discounts and savings” section to discover discounts with local businesses. In my locality, a restaurant offers a 50% discount on food order for just 50 Swagbucks. Other offers include a $15 discount on a $75 purchase at the local Gap store. There’s also a 15% savings offer on contact lenses at JC Penney Optical.
5. PARTICIPATE IN SWEEPSTAKES
Feel like taking a chance with your Swagbucks? You can participate in one of the many Swagstakes. Entry fees range from a single Swagbuck to around 12 Swagbucks, depending on the sweepstake. I haven’t tried these personally, as I prefer to redeem my Swagbucks for tangible returns.
