Acquisition of Keurig Green Mountain for $13.9 Billion

Keurig Green Mountain is set for a change in leadership following a significant multi-billion-dollar acquisition spearheaded by JAB Holding. Keurig will now operate alongside its competition – Peet’s Coffee & Tea, Stumptown Coffee Roasters, and Caribou Coffee – under the umbrella of JAB-owned brands. For the purchase, JAB is shelling out $92 per share which is a staggering 78% premium on Keurig’s closing price on the previous Friday. The name JAB, although not widely recognized, is actually one of the largest players in the global coffee industry. In addition to owning numerous coffee brands, this private firm also has ownership over luxury footwear brand, Jimmy Choo, and perfume manufacturer, Coty. For more information, visit CNN MONEY.
