It’s a competitive marketplace, but offers the opportunity to reach a vast audience. Success in selling on Amazon lies in high-quality photos and the right keywords to attract potential buyers. For certain products, professional photos may already be provided. Remember, however, that Amazon charges $0.99 per item sold, so factor this into your pricing. If you’re planning on selling over 40 items each month, consider upgrading to a seller’s account, which I’ll discuss in detail below.
2. BECOME A THIRD-PARTY SELLER
Transforming your regular sales into a business requires upgrading to an Amazon Seller account, which costs $39.99 per month. Many people make a profitable business flipping thrift store clothing or similar items on Amazon. Think about using Amazon’s Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) service if you’re considering a professional seller’s account. FBA picks up, stores, and ships your items, saving you significant time and effort if you’re selling multiple items each month.
3. BECOME AN AMAZON AFFILIATE
Instead of selling, you can earn money by becoming an Amazon Affiliate and promoting items. If you have a blog, website, or an online group, you can use Amazon’s affiliate program to earn up to 4 – 10% commission on each sale you direct to them.
4. EARN BY COMPLETING TASKS ON MECHANICAL TURK
Amazon Mechanical Turk offers short tasks or ‘HITs’ that you can do online to earn extra cash. The tasks, which include transcription, data entry, and information verification, require minimal skill but do offer a simple way to earn extra money in your spare time.
5. CUSTOMER SERVICE JOBS
You can work directly for Amazon as a customer service representative. There are always positions available, particularly during the holiday season, offering a mix of seasonal, part-time, or full-time remote work.
