Manhattan Eatery Must Pay Staff $500,000 for Withheld Tips

The renowned Manhattan-based restaurant, Per Se, recently addressed a legal issue where it was accused of not distributing a 20% service fee, collected from private dining events, to its waitstaff over a period of 21 months since 2011. Famous chef, Thomas Keller owns Per Se, which stands among the priciest eateries in New York with a tasting menu priced at $310 per individual. A representative from Per Se declared on Thursday, “Our staff was never underpaid, nor were any funds intended for the workers withheld.” The settlement is predicted to impact around 60-70 employees.
