Netflix has unveiled an increase of $1 on their popular streaming service in a bid to offset content costs. The revised standard plan rate of $10 monthly will have no effect on the vast majority of the platform’s 42 million existing U.S. members. Users who had subscribed to Netflix as of May 2014 will continue to be billed at $8 per month, thanks to a two-year price lock-in implemented when the platform previously increased its U.S. fees by $1.
