Established 175 years ago, the Candle-Lite Company has become an essential part of Leesburg, a small Ohio town. Nestled in this rural agricultural community of roughly 1,300 residents is the expansive 900,000-square-foot factory, storage facility, and distribution center for Candle-Lite.
Every year, this firm produces 250 million candles locally in Leesburg, supplying over 40 major retailers such as Wal-Mart, Kroger, and Walgreens. Beyond its production numbers, this longstanding company provides employment for 600 individuals.
CEO Calvin Johnston shares, “Many of our staff members have devoted their professional lives to Candle-Lite, with some even working alongside their second or third-generation family members.”
