The hotel chain has uncovered software anomalies, suggesting that hackers might have accessed customers’ credit card details, among other information. Although they have advised their customers to check their credit card statements, the resort chain has not confirmed if any customer data was stolen. Stephanie Sheppard, Hyatt’s spokesperson, reported through an email that the malware was detected on November 30. However, she didn’t reveal why the company took three weeks to announce the discovery which was made public on Wednesday. Hyatt is among the several major hotel chains this year to admit that their systems were breached by hackers. This Chicago-based firm owns, operates or franchises a total of 627 properties across 52 nations.
