What are Some of the Top Locations to Purchase Pet Products?

As a pet owner, I’m always searching for affordable pet supplies. It’s no secret that the cost of pet merchandise can be quite steep, which can be frustrating. For instance, the price for dog shampoo is often two to four times more than what I pay for my own! Whether you have a dog or a cat, the cost of toys, which they can go through quickly, can add up. Ever since starting our pet-sitting business a few years ago and welcoming our own dog again, I’ve been even more determined to find good quality pet supplies at budget-friendly prices.

Online platforms like Amazon often come to mind first when shopping for pet supplies. While Amazon does offer competitive prices sometimes, I’ve found that quite often, other retail outlets tend to beat Amazon’s prices on numerous pet items. Four specific retail outlets stand out in this respect.
The most cost-efficient options can vary by location, but these four outlets are worth considering: TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Ross, and HomeGoods. These outlets frequently offer good deals and a broad variety of pet products. It’s also convenient when two of these stores are located in the same shopping center. HomeGoods might seem like an unconventional option, but it often offers a wealth of pet supplies at attractive prices.

Here’s a rough idea of what I usually find at these stores:
– TJ Maxx: Dog beds, dog shampoo, healthy treats, collars, balls, and durable chew toys.
– Marshalls: Chew toys, healthy treats, balls, and dog clothes.
– Ross: Dog and cat treats along with some dog clothes.
– HomeGoods: Dog and cat beds (including unique designs), treats, bowls, dog clothes, and chew bones.

Now, availability may vary, but usually, I manage to find what I need without overshooting my budget.

For those who prefer online shopping, Chewy is an excellent option. So far, I’ve found almost all the tools necessary for training dogs for walks, including harnesses, Sprengner collars, Gentle Leaders, and 3.5-foot training leashes on Chewy. Apart from that, I also buy beds, blankets, toys, and even our puppy’s food, especially when they have a sale.

My go-to trick on Chewy is to add items I’m interested in to my cart and revisit after a few days to see if any are discounted.

That being said, even with Chewy as my primary go-to, I’ve sometimes found better deals on Amazon. For instance, I recently bought the Dexas MudBuster Portable Paw Washer on Amazon because it was cheaper. This tool is fantastic for paw cleaning, and it’s always wise to shop around for better deals.

In a nutshell, there are plenty of shops and platforms to get great quality pet products without breaking the bank. Stores that I would recommend checking out include TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Ross, HomeGoods, Chewy, and Amazon. Scouring through these options should help you get all your pet’s necessities without draining your wallet significantly.
