Online shopping offers many conveniences compared to physical store shopping, however, it also comes with certain risks, such as potential theft of personal data. It has been found that cybercriminals are taking advantage of a security gap found in around 71,000 e-commerce websites, endangering customer data, including stored credit card details.
The vulnerabilities exist primarily on the Magento platform, which powers approximately a third of all online stores, as reported by the Israel-based security firm, Check Point Software Technologies.
